Texas Hold 'em Poker
Texas Hold’em Poker is one of the most popular poker games that are available today because of all of the publicity that it has gotten in the recent past. This however is not the only reason that this game is popular right now, some of the popularity comes from the sheer fact that this is an amazing and exciting game. You should realize how to play the game and what the rules are to make sure that you get the full affect of the game. So to start off with here you will learn what the rules are so that you can start on your exciting journey to being a world class Texas Hold’em player. To start the game off the people sitting to the left of the dealer do something that is called posting the blinds.
There is a big and a small blind, the big blind is the whole amount of the minimum bet in the game and is placed by the player to the immediate left of the dealer. The small blind is posted by the person to the left of the big blind and is half of the amount of the minimum bet for the table. The blinds are placed to make sure that there is always something to play for in the pot, this keeps the game going. After the blinds have been posted all of the players at the table are dealt two hole cards to keep in their hands and they are not to be shown to the other players until the very end of the game. These two hole cards are going to be used in conjunction with the five community cards that will later be dealt into the middle of the table. Now that the two hole cards are dealt out to all of the players a round of betting takes place.
Following the first round of betting takes place it is time for the Flop to be laid out on the table. The Flop is the term used for the first three community cards that are laid out on the table. This is of course followed by another round of betting, after this round of betting the Turn, which is the fourth community card is laid out on the table. More betting takes place followed by the River which is the fifth and final community card on the table. Finally comes the showdown which is where cards are shown and the winner is determined. If you start to play there will be certain things that you learn to look for, including which cards are a good bet to play and which are better to just fold the hand. Of course as with many other things practice makes perfect, so the more hands on experience you get the better you will be. This game has the possibility to be one of the most exciting games you will ever play, all you have to do is read and learn the rules and start practicing.
